All in-person Branch meetings and activities — including the End-of-the-Line Bookstore — have been suspended due to the Coronavirus. We will post here and on our Facebook page when activities resume. We will reopen as soon as possible! Thank you!
AAUW-Garrett Branch is the lead organizer of the End-of-the-Line Boxcar Bookstore at the Train Station in Oakland, MD. The Bookstore opened in 2014 with the goal of reselling used books at steep discounts. The proceeds support AAUW-Garrett Branch Scholarship Fund and GEMS Girls Empowerment Middle School Project and also our ally Girl Scout Troop 55004 of Oakland.
The Bookstore is opened middle of May through the middle of October each year on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 11am-3:00pm. It is operated solely with volunteers. Books can only be accepted during open hours and must be in good condition and saleable (meaning not so outdated that no one would be interested in them). We accept books, videos, and audible books. We do not accept magazines, encyclopedias, or other reference books.
Please visit us on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/pg/endofthelinebookstore) for additional information.
