About

Advancing equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research.

AAUW-Garrett Branch has been in Garrett County since 1946. It is part of the national AAUW, which is the oldest and largest women’s equity organization. Our current priorities include scholarships for college women, supporting local programs for women and girls, and developing programs for branch members that are informative and fun.

American Association of University Women (AAUW) is the nation’s leading voice promoting equity and education for women and girls. Since our founding in 1881, AAUW members have examined and taken positions on the fundamental issues of the day — educational, social, economic, and political.
